HDW Class 214 Submarine
The single-hull one-compartment HDW Class 214 Submarine fuses the design principles of the HDW Class 209 family and the outstanding features of the HDW Class 212A boats to create a matchless, cost-effective solution for future oriented navies.
The proven HDW Fuel Cell air-independent propulsion system significantly increases underwater endurance and reduces risks of detection. Increased diving depths, the modular weapon and sensor mix in combination with the fully integrated AIP features make the HDW Class 214 predestined for all modern submarine operations and missions. Furthermore, the large payload permits a wide, flexible scope of missions, ranging from littoral water operations to oceangoing patrols.
Low revolution, permanently excited PERMASYN® motor for maximum speeds without transient switching or gear noises.
High shock standards.
Optimized own signature management.
Optimized sonar capabilities for increased low-frequency detection ranges (expanded flank array sonar).
Large weapon payloads for a mix of torpedoes, missiles and mines.
Integration of Torpedo Countermeasures (TCM) system.
Universal deployment capabilities.
Increased diving depths, the modular weapon and sensor mix in combination with the fully integrated AIP features make the HDW Class 214 predestined for all modern submarine operations and missions.
